LA Golf Fans Donate More Than Half a Ton of Food

Fans of the inaugural HUGEL-JTBC LA Open donated 1,147 pounds of food during our food drive on Saturday of tournament week, which will provide 955 meals to hungry children and their families, seniors and individuals in Los Angeles County. The food drive was conducted during the third round of this year's tournament and was donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank .

"We want to thank our fans for being so supportive of the food drive in our first year and we hope next year's drive will be even bigger," said Tim Erensen, executive director of the HUGEL-JTBC LA Open. "We strive to benefit our communities in a number of ways and we're excited that our fans were able to impact the lives of so many people through this year's tournament."

The LA Regional Food Bank has distributed more than one billion meals since it was founded in 1973. Last year alone, the Food Bank distributed 67 million pounds of food, valued at $72.5 million, to people struggling with hunger in Los Angeles County. More than 300,000 children, adults and seniors are served on a monthly basis.
