Tickets are now on sale to witness the stars of the LPGA in their return to iconic Wilshire Country Club in downtown Los Angeles from April 20-26, 2020, tournament organizers announced today. The event will once again feature 144 of the world’s best female professionals competing over four rounds for a share of the $1.5 million purse.
“HUGEL and AIR PREMIA are very pleased to sponsor the third edition of the tournament at the prestigious Wilshire Country Club in downtown Los Angeles,” said Tournament Chairman Sung Bum Hong. “This tournament has been a field of opportunity for LPGA players to exhibit their competence. I will extend my sincere efforts to pursue the shared growth of both the tournament and the players participating.”
Minjee Lee of Australia won the 2019 tournament for her fifth LPGA Tour title, closing with a 3-under 68 for a four-stroke victory.
“We are excited to host the top players in the LPGA as they compete in front of the best fans in professional golf,” said David Tucker, Tournament Manager of the HUGEL-AIR PREMIA LA Open. “Our second year in Los Angeles was a resounding success and we look forward to building on that momentum in year three.”
Wilshire Country Club, which opened in 1919, is one of a select few venues to host events on the LPGA, PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions, as well as the PGA Championship.
“We are proud to welcome the HUGEL-AIR PREMIA LA Open back to Wilshire during the first year of our second century as a private golf club,” said Patrick J. O’Grady, President and General Manager of Wilshire Country Club. “We look forward to once again offering our classic golf course as a challenge and showcase for the world’s finest professional women golfers. With our close proximity to Hollywood, Koreatown and downtown Los Angeles, our course has stood the test of time and has remained a constant within a city of change.”
